4. Qualification Eligibility
Technical Officer
- TO-01: M.Sc. in Material Science / Physics or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- TO-02: MCA (Master of Computer Applications) or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- TO-03: M.Sc. in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Chemical Sciences or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- TO-04: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy / Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- TO-05: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Security Officer
Ex-serviceman JCO (Subedar or above) with minimum 10 years of experience in the security field or equivalent rank in other paramilitary forces. For Short Service Commissioned Officers and candidates serving as Assistant Commandant in CRPF/BSF/ITBP etc.
With the specified pre-revised pay scale, the required experience is 5 years. For Inspectors in paramilitary forces, the required experience is 10 years.
Security Assistant
Ex-serviceman JCO or equivalent in other paramilitary forces with 5 years of experience in security work. Basic computer proficiency is required.
Technician (1)
- TC-01: SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks in aggregate, along with ITI certificate / National or State Trade Certificate in Instrument Mechanic trade; or 2 years' full-time apprentice trainee experience in Instrument Mechanic trade from a recognized institution; or 3 years' work experience as Instrument Mechanic in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under Government of India, State or UT.
- TC-02: SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks in aggregate, along with ITI certificate / National or State Trade Certificate in Fitter trade; or 2 years' full-time apprentice trainee experience in Fitter trade from a recognized institution; or 3 years' work experience in Fitter trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under Government of India, State or UT.
- TC-03: SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks in aggregate, along with ITI certificate / National or State Trade Certificate in Machinist trade; or 2 years' full-time apprentice trainee experience in Machinist trade from a recognized institution; or 3 years' work experience in Machinist trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under Government of India, State or UT.
- TC-04: SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks in aggregate, along with ITI certificate / National or State Trade Certificate in Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) trade; or 2 years' full-time apprentice trainee experience in Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) trade from a recognized institution; or 3 years' work experience in Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under Government of India, State or UT.
Multi-Tasking Staff
Matriculation / 10th Standard or equivalent pass.

The age limit is calculated as on the last date of submission of the online application. Age relaxation is applicable as per the Government of India and CSIR rules, as mentioned in the notification.
6. Salary and Facilities
The selected candidates will receive salary according to the applicable Pay Matrix Level. The approximate total emoluments mentioned in the notification are as follows:
- Technical Officer: ₹86,580/- per month approximately.
- Security Officer: ₹86,580/- per month approximately.
- Security Assistant: ₹66,500/- per month approximately.
- Technician (1): ₹37,000/- per month approximately.
- Multi-Tasking Staff: ₹33,650/- per month approximately.
The notification states that the posts carry usual allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance (TA), as applicable to Central Government employees and CSIR. Other benefits such as medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession and Children's Education Allowance are available as per applicable CSIR/Government of India rules.
7. Selection Process in Points
- Technical Officer: Screening Committee recommendation, Trade Test and Competitive Written Examination. The Trade Test is qualifying in nature. The final merit list is prepared based on Paper-II and Paper-III of the written examination after applying the prescribed qualifying criteria.
- Security Officer: Screening Committee recommendation, Physical Test and Written Examination. Candidates qualifying in the physical test are invited for the written examination.
- Security Assistant: Screening Committee recommendation, Physical and Personality Assessment Test, followed by Written/Competitive Written Examination for candidates who qualify in the first stage.
- Technician (1): Screening Committee recommendation, Trade Test and Competitive Written Examination. The Trade Test is qualifying in nature, and the final merit list is based on Paper-II and Paper-III.
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Eligible candidates are invited for the Competitive Written Test, and the merit list is prepared based on performance in the Competitive Written Test.
- The written examination, physical test and personality assessment test will ordinarily be conducted at CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal or another centre in Bhopal.
- The Trade Test for Technical Officer and Technician (1) may be conducted at CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal and/or another CSIR laboratory/institute or suitable centre in India, depending on availability of required facilities.

10. Application fee
The application fee is ₹500/- for each post code.
The fee is non-refundable and must be paid through SBI Collect / online payment gateway as prescribed in the notification. Payment through cash, demand draft, postal order or other modes is not accepted.
Fee Exemption: SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee on uploading the relevant certificate.
A candidate applying for multiple post codes must submit a separate application and pay the prescribed fee separately for each post code, wherever applicable.
