Cochin Shipyard Limited CANSRU Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for Andaman and Nicobar Domicile Candidates
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has invited online applications for the engagement of Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
The training will be at the CSL AN Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU), Sri Vijaya Puram. Only engineering graduates and diploma holders who are domiciled in Andaman and Nicobar Islands can apply.
Online registration runs from 14.10.2026 to 30.10.2026.

4. Qualification Eligibility
Category I: Graduate Apprentices (Electronics & Communication Engg.)
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in the relevant discipline.
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in the relevant discipline.
- Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
Category II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engg.)
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in the relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in the relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
Other Eligibility Conditions
- Candidates must be Indian citizens domiciled in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Candidates having equivalent qualifications must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority. Without it, the candidature will not be considered.
- Candidates who have already undergone, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 in any Government, Public Sector or Private organisation are not eligible.
- Where a University does not award class or percentage but gives Aggregate Grade Points (CGPA/OGPA/CPI), the conversion criteria of the University will be accepted. If no criteria are defined, the grade points will be multiplied by 10 to get the percentage.
- Minimum physical standards are as prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992 and its amendments, if any.
5. Age Limit

6. Salary and Facilities

- No travel expenses are admissible during the apprenticeship training period.
- Boarding or lodging will not be provided by CSL during the training period.
- After completing the apprenticeship, CSL has no obligation to offer employment, and the apprentice cannot claim a right to employment on the basis of completing the apprenticeship.
7. Selection Process
- Only candidates who are domiciled in Andaman & Nicobar Islands will be considered.
- Shortlisting will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification for the respective discipline.
- If more than one candidate has the same percentage, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in passing year.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification. They must bring original certificates as proof of age, qualification, percentage of marks, caste, disability (if any) etc., along with self-attested copies.
- Candidature will be considered on the strength of the original certificates. If original certificates are not produced, the candidature will be rejected.
- Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be provisionally considered against the notified seats in the order of merit and reservation, subject to medical fitness.
- Government of India directives on reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD will be strictly followed.
- Call letters for certificate verification will not be sent by post. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and through the CSL website.

- Activate your account at https://nats.education.gov.in using the "forgot password" option on the student login page.
- Login and complete the application form. Make sure all details are correct.
- Login again, search "COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED" under "Apply against advertised vacancies" and click Apply. The status will show as "applied".
For students not registered on the old portal:
- Go to https://nats.education.gov.in, click Student, then click Student Register.
- Complete the application form. A unique Enrolment Number will be generated for each student.
