Important: For Non-Engineering Apprentices, graduation in non-engineering disciplines such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA or equivalent will be preferred.
The number of seats against a particular trade or discipline may be increased or decreased according to the requirement of OPTCL.
Age Limit
The candidate should be at least 18 years of age as on 01 August 2026.
Candidates should also fulfil the other eligibility conditions mentioned in the official OPTCL apprenticeship notification.
Salary and Facilities
This is an apprenticeship training opportunity and selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as mentioned below:

OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend for Degree Engineering, Diploma Technician, and Degree Non-Engineering Apprentices, while the remaining 50% will be paid by BOPT through DBT as per the notification.
The apprenticeship training period will be 12 months. Stipend will be payable from the online contract date, subject to satisfactory performance during the training period.
No accommodation or allowance in lieu of accommodation will be provided by OPTCL at the training locations.
Selection Process
The selection of apprentices will be made on the basis of academic merit, written test and/or interview, as required by OPTCL.
Apprentice seats will be filled according to the applicable reservation rules. If seats remain vacant because suitable candidates are not available in a particular discipline, candidates from other disciplines within the same apprenticeship type may be considered.
OPTCL has stated that candidates may be required to attend document verification/interview as part of the selection process. No TA/DA or other expenses will be paid for attending document verification or interview.
