Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 – Apply Online for 384 Vacancies
Short Description
Assam Rifles has released the official notification for Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026. Total 384 vacancies are available in Group C posts for male candidates. Online applications will start from 28 September 2026 and the last date to apply is 28 October 2026.
Physical tests will be held at Jorhat or Dibrugarh in Assam from 1 November 2026 onwards. Candidates who are Indian citizens and meet the required education and age criteria can apply through the official website.
Recruitment Overview
Assam Rifles is conducting a recruitment rally for Technical and Tradesman posts in 2026. Vacancies are open on all India basis for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Unreserved categories. There is no state-wise quota. 10 percent vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen in selected trades.
Candidates must apply online only. The selection process includes physical tests, a computer-based exam, trade skill test and medical examination. Final selection will be based on merit list according to available vacancies.

Qualification Eligibility
Different trades have different educational requirements. Main qualifications are given below:
- Warrant Officer (Cipher): 10+2 with Physics, Maths and English + 2 years ITI in related trade or Bachelor degree in Electronics / ICT
- Rifleman (Electrical Fitter Signal), Lineman Field, Armourer, Electrician Motor Vehicle, Vehicle Mechanic, Welder, Metalsmith, Upholster, Store Keeper Technical: 10th or 12th pass + relevant ITI certificate
- Havildar (Instrument Mechanic): 10th pass + ITI in Instrument Mechanic
- Warrant Officer (Draughtsman): 10+2 + 3 years Diploma in Architectural Assistantship
- Warrant Officer (Operation Theatre Technician): 10+2 + 2 years Diploma in OT Technician + 2 years experience
- Warrant Officer (Physiotherapist): 10+2 + 2 years Diploma in Physiotherapy + 1 year experience
- Rifleman (Mason): 10th pass + self declaration of 1 year experience in mason work
All candidates must have a valid domicile / permanent residential certificate and category certificate if applying under reserved category.
Age Limit
Cut-off date for age calculation is 1 July 2026.
- Most trades: 18 to 23 years or 18 to 25 years (as per trade)
- Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen get additional relaxation after deducting military service period
- Departmental candidates (serving Assam Rifles personnel) can get age relaxation up to 40 years in selected trades
Salary and Facilities
Selected candidates will get pay and allowances as per the pay scale applicable to Assam Rifles personnel of the respective rank. Other facilities like free ration, medical facilities, accommodation, leave and pension benefits will be given as per Assam Rifles rules. After selection, candidates will undergo training and will be on probation for two years.
Selection Process
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Online Application and Document Verification
- RFID-based Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 marks (35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC)
- Trade Skill Test (qualifying only)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME)
- Final Merit List based on CBT marks and vacancies
PET standards: Male candidates have to run 1.6 km in 6 minutes (7 minutes for Ladakh region candidates).

Interview Date and Location
There is no separate interview. Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test will be conducted from 1 November 2026 onwards at Jorhat (Assam) or Dibrugarh (Assam). The application fee is Rs 100 for General and OBC candidates.
SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the fee.
